Immigration plays a key role in a world of increasing global mobility. The ability to move seamlessly across countries is of paramount importance to individuals, families and businesses alike.
Prior to the changes of the TRNC regulations for Residence Permits and Visas under chapter 105/2019, Visa applications would be automatically extended post the 90 days has exceeds. Currently, a residence permit must be applied for, through the Government website. There are multiple types of different applications that can be made, such as residency by of a Tenancy Agreement, Ownership of Property, Spouses, Student Visas and etc.
A Residency permit only allows you to reside within the TRNC, this does not give the applicant the right to work. In order to have the privilege of working in a company in the TRNC or owning your own company, a work permit must be applied for at the Interior Ministry, either before your arrival to the TRNC or whilst residing in the TRNC on the condition that you will leave the TRNC boarders and come back on a work visa.
We understand that the decision to relocate, whether for families or businesses, is never taken lightly and that the process of relocation can be stressful. This is only compounded by the TRNC’s ever-changing legal framework around immigration. We therefore strive to facilitate a smooth and stress-free immigration process for our clients.
